Privacy Policy

Effective 20 October 2026

Blackout Murder is a mystery puzzle game made by Kid Adam Studios. This policy explains what information the game uses and why. The short version: you never create an account, we don't collect your name, email or contacts, and your progress stays with you: on your phone and, on iPhone, with your own Apple Account.

Your progress

Your solved cases, stars, streaks, Wax Seals, purchased items and the testimonies you have read are saved on your phone. On iPhone, a copy is also kept with your Apple Account through Game Center saved games, which Apple stores in your own iCloud. This lets your progress come back if you reinstall the game or move to a new iPhone signed in to the same Game Center and iCloud account. That copy is stored by Apple; we do not receive it. Using Reset progress in Settings erases your progress.

Purchases

Wax Seals and the time-limited clauses are sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google; we never see your card or payment details. The game only receives confirmation that a purchase went through so it can deliver what you bought.

Advertising

The game offers optional ads, for example watching an ad for an extra hint or to skip a wait. These ads are provided by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google may collect:

If you decline tracking on iPhone, you may still see ads, but they won't be personalised with your advertising identifier. You can reset or limit your advertising identifier in your phone's settings at any time. Google's use of this data is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. Where the law requires it (for example in the EU and UK), the game asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown.

Sharing your results

When you tap Share or Copy Result, the game creates a result card or a short text on your device and hands it to your phone's share sheet or clipboard. Nothing is posted anywhere unless you choose to post it.

Game Center

On iPhone the game signs in to Apple Game Center if you use it. Game Center is run by Apple: your player name and any scores are handled by Apple under its own privacy policy. If a future update adds leaderboards through Google Play Games on Android, the same applies to Google.

Children

Blackout Murder is a murder-mystery game intended for players aged 13 and over. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your choices and rights

Because we don't hold personal data about you on our own systems, there is nothing for us to export or delete. You can stop ad tracking in your phone's settings, and you can remove all game data by deleting the app. If you have a question about your data or about Google's advertising data, write to us and we will help.

Changes to this policy

If the game starts using information in a new way, we will update this page and change the effective date above.
